s B. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> DESIGNATING JUNE 17- 2352013 <br /> AS AMATEUR RADIO WEEK <br /> WHEREAS, Indian River County has more than 500 licensed Amateur Radio operators <br /> who have demonstrated their value in public assistance by providing emergency radio <br /> communications; and <br /> WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators donate their services free of charge in the <br /> interest of the citizens of the County as well as the world; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Amateur Radio operators are on alert for any emergency, local or <br /> worldwide, are part of the Homeland Defense, and regularly practice their communication skills; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these Amateur Radio operators share their skills by teaching others and <br /> demonstrating their unique communications skills to the public during Amateur Week; and <br /> WHEREAS, members of the Vero Beach Amateur Radio Club will be participating in the <br /> emergency preparedness exercise known as Field Day on June 22 and 23, 2013. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA that June 17 through 23, 2013 be <br /> designated as AMATEUR RADIO WEEK in Indian River County, and the Board urges all <br /> citizens to pay appropriate tribute to the Amateur Radio operators of our County. <br /> Adopted this 11th day of June, 2013. <br /> BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, <br /> INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br /> J sem E.
