Kafer, Jr., P.E., County Engine <br />SUBJECT: Award of Bid No: 2013021 <br />12th Street and 27th Avenue Intersection Improvements <br />IRC Project No. 9334 <br />DATE: July 1, 2013 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The proposed improvements to the 12th Street and 27th Avenue intersection consist of the <br />milling and resurfacing of 12th Street approximately 1200 LF east and west of 27th Avenue <br />and the addition of left turn lanes, eastbound and westbound on 12th Street at 27th Avenue. <br />In order to add the turn lanes, the canal along the south side of 12th Street will be filled in <br />with 60" RCP. Also included with the project is curbing, sidewalks, new traffic signal and <br />pavement markings. <br />The bid opening was held on May 8, 2013. Five (5) bids were received and opened. A detailed <br />bid tabulation is on file and available for viewing in the County Engineering Division. <br />Bid totals are as follows: <br />Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. Vero Beach, FL $1,525,216.32 <br />Dickerson Florida, Inc. Ft. Pierce, FL $1,712,177.90 <br />Ranger Construction Industries, Inc. Ft. Pierce, FL $1,836,983.90** <br />Community Asphalt Corporation Vero Beach, FL $1,891,619.94 <br />Sunshine Land Design, Inc. Stuart, FL $2,061,087.28 <br />**Denotes mathematical errors were found and bid amounts corrected. <br />Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. is considered to be the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder for <br />the project with a bid totaling $1,525,216.32. Timothy Rose Contracting, Inc. has completed <br />various construction projects for the County and has consistently performed work in a <br />satisfactory manner.
