Tworek <br />Senior Planner, Lon -Range Planning <br />DATE: May 29, 1991 <br />SUBJECT: WINDSOR POLO REQUEST TO AMEND THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN AND <br />REZONE 14+/- ACRES <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at its regular <br />meeting of June 18, 1991. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />Windsor Polo has submitted a request to amend the Comprehensive <br />Plan and rezone property. The subject property is located on the <br />..a -.-south side of Hobart Road (77th Street), west of the FEC Railroad <br />:right-of-way. The request includes 14+/- acres of a +/-480 acre <br />parcel. - <br />The request entails changing the existing land use from C/I, <br />Commercial/Industrial Node to L-2, Low Density Residential (up to <br />6 units/acre), and rezoning the property from IG, General <br />Industrial District to RM -6, Multiple -Family Residential District <br />(up to 6 units/acre). The purpose of this request'is to secure the <br />necessary land use designation and zoning for multiple family <br />development and polo fields. The Windsor Polo Corporation is <br />proposing to develop an overall 480+/- acre site as phased <br />multiple -family housing and polo fields. Phase I of the project is <br />being reviewed by the Planning Department. <br />On November 15, 1990, the Planning and Zoning Commission voted 5 to <br />0 to. recommend that the Board of County Commissioners approve <br />transmittal of this request to the State of Florida Department of <br />Community Affairs. <br />On December 11, 1990, the Board of County Commissioners voted 5 to <br />0 to transmit this request to the Department of Community Affairs <br />(DCA), for their review and comment. Planning.staff received DCA's <br />Objections, Recommendations, and Comments (ORC) Report on April 22, <br />1991. <br />98 = <br />
