Rymer, Dire or <br />Building Division <br />------------------------------------ <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their regular <br />meeting of August 6, 1991 <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS <br />Subject structure has been condemned and ordered repaired or <br />removed; the building was posted with a notice and an attempt was <br />made to notify the owner by certified mail. We have determined <br />that the owner is deceased. Certified notices were sent to the <br />Attorney handling the probate and to the Representative (son) of <br />the estate, Notice was made only to the attorney. Legal Notice to <br />all unknown heirs was run in the Vero Beach Press Journal on two <br />separate dates. The taxes have not been paid on this property -for <br />the years of 1987, 1988, 1989, and 1990. <br />Said structure is not occupied; however, neighbors report that <br />vagrants have been using the property. This structure is <br />considered unsafe and detrimental to the health, safety, and <br />welfare of the general public. <br />' RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners declare <br />said structure a nuisance, and order the building demolished by the <br />.County Road and Bridge Department if men and equipment are <br />available. <br />After removal, in accordance with Section 4-21, Code of Ordinances, <br />Indian River County, the Board will cause a lien to be filed of <br />record for the costs of removal against the owner or person in <br />charge. <br />Mrs. Rymer assured the Board that every attempt has been <br />made to notify all parties.
