Ke ting, AI <br />Community Develop ent Virector <br />Roland IieBloIS, ICP <br />.Chief, Environmental Planning <br />October 25, 1991 <br />Louis Schlitt Property Land Clearing <br />Adjacent to Rockridge Subdivision <br />9. <br />It is requested that the data herein presented be given formal <br />consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at their regular <br />meeting of November 5, 1991. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />On October 14, 1991, representatives of the Rockridge Property <br />Owners Association (P.O.A) sent a letter to the Board of County <br />Commissionerp,..a copy of which is attached. In that letter, the <br />property owners association requested an appearance before the <br />Board of County Commissioners, concerning land.clearing that has <br />,occurred adjacent to their subdivision, which they contend <br />'encroached into a canal right-of-way causing erosion and protected <br />1tree destruction. <br />11soui-s-Schlitt is the owner of the subject property which is 5± <br />lacres in size and located at the southeast corner of 16th Street <br />and 3rd. Avenue, adjacent to Rockridge Subdivision,. Unit 5. 'The <br />1property is- separated from platted lots and roadways within <br />Rockridge by a canal to the west and south of the subject property. <br />The referenced canal right-of-way is part of the Rockridge <br />Subdivision recorded plat. According to the plat and property <br />appraiser's• tax maps, the north right-of-way boundary of the east - <br />west canal; and the east right-of-way boundary of the north -south <br />(canal are the city limits of Vero Beach, with the Schlitt property <br />being entirely within the city. A small portion.of the property <br />along the canal banks where the canal right-of-way exists landward <br />of the dredged canal is within the unincorporated county and was <br />cleared when the Schlitt property land clearing occurred. <br />!Approximately one year ago, at the request of the City of Vero <br />Beach, Mr. Schlitt conducted land clearing on his property: In <br />;that his property is entirely within the city, Mr. Schlitt <br />:i coordinated his land clearing approval with the city planning <br />department. . <br />W <br />
