BLAIR SMITH LETTER <br />Chairman Bird asked for comments from the County Attorney <br />regarding Blair Smith's letter in which he made certain accusations <br />requested a 100 000 settlement b the County. <br />and resu $ , y y <br />Attorney Vitunac's suggestion, after discussing the subject <br />with the County Administrator, was to advise Mr. Smith that the <br />County is not authorized to hand out $100,000; he must file a <br />lawsuit against us and win and, of course, we would defend it. <br />Also, we are not responsible for the people who are named in his <br />letter. <br />Commissioner Scurlock thought there is* a statute of <br />limitations. <br />Attorney Vitunac confirmed there is a statute of limitations <br />and Mr. Smith's attorney should tell him that. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stated that over approximately 12 years, <br />Mr. Smith has submitted well over a hundred letters of this type. <br />Mr. Smith has been supplied with public records and Commissioner <br />,.Scurlock felt we have spent too much time on this matter. <br />Chairman Bird requested, and Attorney Vitunac said he would <br />send a letter to Mr. Smith. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, on <br />motion duly made, seconded and unanimously carried, the <br />meeting adjourned at 11:30 o'clock A.
