Ruth Chapman came before the Board and felt if this easement <br />--� <br />was released we would lose forever the ability to open 16th Street <br />in that area. <br />Commissioner Scurlock said he understood there was. never <br />really an easement. <br />Ms. Chapman voiced concern about Mr. Schlitt's plan to have an <br />entrance on 14th Street, which would necessitate the four-laning of <br />14th Street. Chairman Bird assured her that would be discussed at <br />the time of site planning. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Eggert, the Board unanimously released <br />the easement and requested Mr. Schlitt accelerate <br />his plans for landscaping. <br />ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION FOR -ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE UPDATE <br />OF THE WATER WASTEWATER AND EFFLUENT DISPOSAL MASTER PLANS <br />The Board reviewed memo from Utility Services Director Terry <br />Pinto dated December 10, 1991: <br />DATE: DECEMBER 10, 1991 <br />..TO:. ASHE <br />PREPARED BY: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: ENGINEERING FIRM SELECTION <br />ENGINEERING SERVICES FOR THE UPDATE OF THE WATER, ' <br />WASTEWATER, AND -EFFLUENT DISPOSAL MASTER PLANS <br />:BACKGROUNDS <br />The Department Of Utility Services received thirteen (13) responses <br />to its Request for Proposal to provide engineering services for the <br />update of the water, wastewater, an -d effluent disposal master plans. <br />- The selection committee reviewed `the responses and selected f61u•' '^ <br />firms to be interviewed for the project. <br />:.On'December 6, 1991, the selection committee interviewed the four (4) <br />'firms and, as a result of the interview, ranked the firms .as <br />'follows: <br />1. Brown and Caldwell, Inc. <br />2. James M. MontgomeryAD <br />3. Black and Veach <br />4. HNTB Engineers <br />They Department Of Utility Services Y recommends that the Board of <br />County Commissioners authorize the Department to conduct <br />negotiations with the No. 1 ranked -firm, Brown and Caldwell, Inc., <br />and to proceed with an agreement based upon the outcome of the <br />negotiations.
