Morris, Tax Collector <br />SUBJECT: Occupational Licenses <br />DATE: January 3, 1992 <br />Pursuant to Indian River County Ordinance No. 86-59, please be <br />informed that $4,747.71 was collected in occupational license taxes <br />during the month of December, representing the issuance of 201 <br />licenses. <br />E. Cable Television Law Seminar <br />The Board reviewed memo from Utility Services Director Terry <br />Pinto dated January 6, 1992: <br />TO: BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />THRU: dames E. Pinto, Director /� <br />Utility Services Department !iy <br />DATE: January S. 1992 <br />RE: CABLE TELEVISION LAW SEMINAR <br />The Department of Utility Services requests that the County Attorney <br />be authorized to attend the annual cable television law seminar being <br />given by the Practising Law Institute February 27-28, 1992, in New <br />York City. The seminar will discuss the legal matters currently in flux <br />which might affect the County's regulation of two cable TV systems <br />franchised by the County. <br />The expenses of the trip have been budgeted in the Department of <br />Utility Services Account. We request that the Board authorize the trip. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stated that this law is still pending <br />and this topic will be discussed at the National Association of <br />Counties Meeting which will be attended by Indian River County <br />Commissioners. He felt they will be able to gather information on <br />this subject at that meeting, and when the law is in place we will <br />have something to study. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously denied <br />the request for travel. <br />3 <br />PK3E kdf-)o <br />
