Pinto, Director /� <br />Utility Services Department !iy <br />DATE: January S. 1992 <br />RE: CABLE TELEVISION LAW SEMINAR <br />The Department of Utility Services requests that the County Attorney <br />be authorized to attend the annual cable television law seminar being <br />given by the Practising Law Institute February 27-28, 1992, in New <br />York City. The seminar will discuss the legal matters currently in flux <br />which might affect the County's regulation of two cable TV systems <br />franchised by the County. <br />The expenses of the trip have been budgeted in the Department of <br />Utility Services Account. We request that the Board authorize the trip. <br />Commissioner Scurlock stated that this law is still pending <br />and this topic will be discussed at the National Association of <br />Counties Meeting which will be attended by Indian River County <br />Commissioners. He felt they will be able to gather information on <br />this subject at that meeting, and when the law is in place we will <br />have something to study. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously denied <br />the request for travel. <br />3 <br />PK3E kdf-)o <br />
