Chandler, County Administrator <br />THRU: Jack Price, Personnel Director'Y'`'�'-'z-' <br />FROM: Beth Jordan, Risk Manager <br />_ DATE: January 9, 1992 <br />SUBJECT: First Quarter Safety Award - 1992 <br />We request your consideration for inclusion on the Boards January 28, 1 <br />agenda the presentation of the First Quarter � meeting <br />Safety Award. <br />Background <br />Each quarter, the Risk Management Division receives award recommendations from the <br />Safety Committee. The nominees, as individuals or as work groups, have demonstrated <br />their commitment to on-the-job safety and health through their outstanding performance. <br />Analysis <br />Staff received the First Quarter Safety Award nominations and selected Animal Control. <br />The attached memorandum from Nancy Errett, Animal Control Officer, detail their <br />meritorious efforts. In addition, the Animal Control Division has had no vehicle accidents <br />in 1991-1992. <br />Recommendation <br />Staff recommends the First Quarter Safety Award be presented to the Animal Control <br />Division. <br />amen E. Chandler Date <br />County Administrator - - <br />Chairman Eggert announced that the First Quarter 1992 Safety <br />Award is being presented to the Animal Control Division in <br />recognition of their outstanding safety record. In 1991, the <br />Division handled over 4,500 complaints. As a result of staff's <br />training and skill, there were no employee injuries which resulted <br />from animal capture. In addition, they traveled over 5,000 miles <br />each month and were not at fault in any traffic accidents nor did <br />staff receive any citations for their driving. <br />Chairman Eggert presented the First Quarter Safety Award to <br />Nancy Errett, who accepted on behalf of the Animal Control <br />Division. <br />2 <br />
