PURCHASE OF PROPERTY CONTIGUOUS TO THE SOUTH COUNTY R.O. WATER <br />FACILITY (NURSERY OWNED BY HOSKINS AND TRENCHING INC.) <br />Chairman Eggert announced that she previously declared a <br />conflict of interest on this matter in October, 1991, which <br />states: "A purchase agreement for Oslo Road Nursery is made <br />out to Karl Heinz Eggert and Oslo Road Nursery, Inc. by <br />Trenching, Inc. and Robert A. Hoskins, the current owner. At <br />the time of my husband's death, the purchase agreement came <br />fully to me. It occupies a second position behind a bank <br />loan." Chairman Eggert advised that following the <br />established policy, she would turn the meeting over to Vice <br />Chairman Bowman and leave the room while this item was being <br />discussed and voted on. (CONFLICT OF INTEREST IS ON FILE IN <br />THE OFFICE OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD). <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 1/17/92: <br />DATE: JANUARY 17, 1992 <br />TO: JAMES E. FACILITY (THE NURSERY OWNED BY HOSKINS AND <br />TRENCHe�.INC . ) <br />BACKGROUND <br />On October 15, 1991, the staff of the Department of Utility Services <br />went before the Board of County Commissioners for approval to <br />negotiate and purchase a 9.81 acre tract of land referenced above. <br />(See attached agenda item package.) During the meeting with the <br />Board of County Commissioners, we were instructed to proceed with <br />appraisals and negotiations on the nursery parcel as well as three <br />additional properties shown on the attached Exhibit A. . (See <br />attached October 15, 1991 minutes.) We have received appraisals on <br />the nursery parcel and the 3.1 acre parcel bordering Oslo Road; <br />however, we have been delayed on the other parcels, due to problems <br />with the survey and existing buildings on these parcels. Due to the <br />upcoming foreclosure action currently underway against the nursery <br />property, we wish to proceed with the purchase of this parcel <br />immediately. <br />77 <br />JAN 28 19 2- <br />
