�7 <br />)� ate,a <br />BOOK <br />Administrator Chandler confirmed that the items are surplus <br />because we have offered them and they were not bid on, and it has <br />been our procedure to keep them in inventory until someone wants <br />them. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously loaned <br />26 chairs and all the surplus desks in the old <br />health building (no number was mentioned) to the <br />Coalition for the Homeless for their use while the <br />Coalition leases that building. <br />Ken Macht, speaking for the Samaritan Center, briefly <br />explained the differences in function and purpose between Samaritan <br />Center and Coalition for the Homeless and assured the Board that <br />both facilities are needed in the County. <br />1992 ROAD RESURFACING PROGRAM <br />The Board reviewed memo from Public Works Director James Davis <br />dated February 17, 1992: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: 1992 Road Resurfacing Program <br />DATE: February 17, 1992 FILE: resurf.agn <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />During the FY91/92 Budget Hearings, $470,000 was <br />appropriated for resurfacing and widening of County Roads. <br />At this time, the County Road and Bridge Division' is <br />recommending a partial list of roads currently in need of <br />resurfacing and/or widening. There is approximately <br />$444,000 available in Account # 111-214-541-035.31 for this <br />work. Since the attached list of projects is estimated to <br />cost $173,600, there will remain $270,400 available for <br />additional projects to be defined for Board approval this <br />spring. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends that the attached list of roads be approved <br />for resurfacing and/or widening.
