All projects are in their sixth month of <br />operation and will terminate on September 30, 1992. <br />CURRENT <br />This office received a letter dated March 20, <br />Indian River County has been allocated $138,816 In 92 g antthe fundsD CA for Yti 1992that <br />93 <br />to fund local Anti -Drug Abuse projects. The letter also requested the Board to <br />serve as the coordinating unit of government in applying for the funds. The <br />Substance Abuse Advisory Council will be preparing their recommendation to the <br />Board regarding what projects to fund and their funding levels. <br />recommendation will be brought to the Board at a later dateThis <br />. The grant's third <br />year will continue to be funded 75% from the State and 25% from the County. <br />The budgetary impact on the County will not exceed $50,000. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends the Board accept the invitation to serve as the coordinating <br />unit of government in the FDCA Anti -Drug Abuse Act Formula Grant Program <br />and authorize the Board Chairman to sign the Certification of Participation <br />naming Randy Dowling as the contact person. <br />12 <br />
