ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The State EMS Office has verified that the suction equipment <br />referenced above will meet all specifications and requirements of <br />the new standards. <br />Approval of this request will preclude the ERS Office of Emergency <br />Medical Services from reflecting a deficiency and potential fine <br />for the County EMS Division when an inspection. is made of our <br />service by the ERS EMS Compliance and Monitoring Team. <br />RECOMIIâ–º MATION <br />Staff recommends the Board approve the expenditure of the <br />additional grant funds in the amount of $732.69 and authorize the <br />transfer of $1,717-31 from operating to capital accounts within the <br />existing EMS budget for the purchase of state approved suction <br />equipment. The recommendation is based on maintaining compliance <br />with Chapter 401, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 1OD-66 Florida <br />Administrative Code. <br />Staff also requests approval of the necessary budget amendment and <br />sole source purchase of seven (7) Impact Model RI305 Suction Units <br />from Advanced Medical and Pharmaceutical Supplies since these units <br />meet or exceed the required ERS EMS specifications. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved the <br />expenditure of the additional grant funds in the amount <br />of $732.69 and authorized the transfer of $1,717.31 from <br />operating to capital accounts within the existing EMS <br />budget for the purchase of the suction equipment, as set <br />out in the above staff recommendation. <br />49 <br />
