APR 14 `3U <br />DATE: MARCH 12, 1992 <br />TO: COUNCIL, AND COMMISSION MEMBERS <br />FROM: THE VISIONS STEERING COMMITTEE <br />BOOK PSE 2 <br />SUBj ZCT: INFORMATION PACKAGES ON THE VISION WORKSHOP <br />I S <br />I O N <br />WORK <br />S H O P <br />F O C U S <br />O N T H E <br />The enclosed information is being given to you in ordjarF to T II R E <br />expand your knowledge and understanding of the VISION <br />WORKSHOP process and history. This will provide backgro <br />information which may be useful in expanding on the <br />discussion you have recently had with one or more of our <br />Steering Committee members. <br />We particularly want to emphasize the broad diversity and <br />representative nat-are whits is required for this pracess to <br />acsieve a meaningful consensus of all interest within the <br />County. To that end, we will be looking for support from <br />all cities in the County as well as the County itself. <br />The budget for this project is $13,000 and is projected to <br />be allocated as follows: <br />** p_omotion and salicitation $1,800 <br />of participants <br />** Data collect -ion and printing $ 800 <br />of workshop books <br />** Professional Facilitator $3,500 <br />** Lunches and beverages $1,200 <br />** Final report family picnic $1,500 <br />** Final report production $2,2oa <br />and distribution <br />$13, 000 <br />These figures include an allowance for unseen cont.1agencies. <br />Indian River Community College has agreed to provide the <br />facilities of the Mueller Center at no charge as part of its <br />community involvement and educational commitment to the <br />County. In addition, it has agreed to provide all required <br />financial cont+ols, assuring that any funds provided for the <br />Workshop will be used solely for that purpose under proper <br />accounting controls. <br />Eric K. Wetzig, representative of the Vision Workshop Focus On <br />The Future steering committee, presented to the Board the <br />background and plan for a workshop along with a request for funds. <br />He stated that the plan evolved from a meeting of a number of <br />community residents held in the Library last July. After that <br />initial meeting a steering committee held innumerable meetings, and <br />while the voluntary membership has changed, there is a core of 35 <br />to 40 people on the steering committee from 11 different interests <br />28 <br />
