Change Order No. 6 also includes deductions in the amount of <br />$45,097.10 for bridge piling. Due to the presence of rock, <br />shorter piling lengths were required than what was included <br />in the original contract. The net change in contract price <br />for Change Order No. 6 is an increase in the amount of <br />$8,632.59. <br />All the items on Change Order No. 7 are for modifications <br />that will facilitate the future construction of the <br />intersection 'at Indian River Boulevard and the proposed <br />realignment of the Merrill Barber Bridge. _These <br />modifications were requested by the Florida Department of <br />Transportation. The net change in contract price for Change <br />Order No. 7 is an increase in the amount of $6,009.76. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Alternative No. 1 <br />Authorize Change Order No. _6 and Change Order No. 7. <br />This would result in a revised contract amount of <br />$2,891,530.90. <br />Alternative No. 2 <br />Deny authorization <br />re -negotiate. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />of the Change Orders and <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 1 whereby Change Orders No. <br />6 and No. -7 are approved.
