The Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if anyone <br />wished to be heard in this matter. There being none, she closed <br />the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (4-1, <br />Commissioner Bird being absent) adopted Ordinance <br />92-14 repealing Chapter 20, Sheriff and Law <br />Enforcement, and declaring same to be null and void <br />and of no effect. <br />ORDINANCE 92 -fig, <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF <br />CHAPTER 209 SHERIFF AND LAW ENFORCEMENT, <br />OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF INDIAN <br />RIVER COUNTY AND DECLARING SAME TO BE " <br />NULL AND VOID AND OF NO EFFECT. <br />WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Florida has <br />enacted Legislation which sets forth the duties and obligations of the <br />Sheriff , and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 20 of the Indian River County Code <br />contains certain County procedures concerning the sheriff which are <br />no longer necessary, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida that: <br />SECTION I. REPEAL <br />"Chapter 20 - Sheriff and Law Enforcement" of the Code of <br />Ordinances of Indian River County is hereby repealed and declared <br />null and void and of no effect. <br />SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE <br />This ordinance shall become effective on becoming law. <br />Approved and adopted by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, on this 28 day of <br />April , 1992. <br />39 <br />
