SECTION 00800 - SUPPLEMENTARY CONDITIONS TO THE <br /> GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> SC-1.00 Introduction <br /> These Supplementary Conditions amend or supplement the Standard General Conditions of the <br /> Construction Contract (No. 1910-8, 1996 Edition) and other provisions of the Contract <br /> Documents as indicated below. All provisions, which are not so amended or supplemented, <br /> remain in full force and effect. <br /> The terms used in these Supplementary Conditions will have the meanings indicated in the <br /> General Conditions. <br /> SC-1.01 Defined Terms <br /> SC-1.01.A.20. Delete paragraph GC 1.01.A.20 in its entirety. <br /> SC-1.02 Terminology <br /> SC-1.02.D.1, 2, and 3 Delete paragraphs GC-1.02.D.1, 2, and 3 in their entirety and <br /> insert the following paragraphs in their place: <br /> D. Furnish, Install, Perform, Provide <br /> 1. The word "furnish" shall mean to supply and deliver services, materials, or <br /> equipment to the Site (or some other specified location) ready for use or <br /> installation and in usable or operable condition. <br /> 2. The word "install' shall mean to put into use or place in final position services, <br /> materials, or equipment complete and ready for intended use. <br /> 3. The words "perform" or "provide" shall mean to furnish and install services, <br /> materials, or equipment complete and ready for intended use. <br /> SC-2.05 Before Starting Construction <br /> SC-2.05.C. Delete paragraph GC 2.05.0 in its entirety and insert the following paragraph in its <br /> place: <br /> C. Evidence of Insurance: CONTRACTOR shall not commence work under this <br /> Contract until he has obtained all insurance required under Article 5 and such <br /> insurance has been delivered to the OWNER and approved by the OWNER, nor <br /> shall the CONTRACTOR allow any Subcontractor to commence work on his <br /> subcontract until all similar insurance required of the Subcontractor has been so <br /> obtained and approved. All such insurance shall remain in effect until final <br /> payment and at all times thereafter when CONTRACTOR may be correcting, <br /> removing or replacing defective Work in accordance with Article 13. <br /> SC-2.06 Preconstruction Conference <br /> SC-2.06 Delete paragraph GC-2.06.A in its entirety and insert the following paragraph in its <br /> place: <br /> A. Immediately after awarding the contract, but before the CONTRACTOR begins <br /> work, the Project Manager will call a preconstruction conference at a place the <br /> ENGINEER designates to establish an understanding among the parties as to <br /> the work and to discuss schedules referred to in paragraph 2.05.6, procedures <br /> for handling Shop Drawings and other submittals, and maintaining required <br /> records.
