Tuesday, May 12, 1992 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, May 12, 1992, at <br />9:00 o"clock A. M. Present were Carolyn K. Eggert, Chairman; <br />Margaret C. Bowman; Vice Chairman, Richard N. Bird, Gary C. <br />Wheeler, and Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Also present were James E. <br />Chandler, County Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County <br />Attorney; and Patricia Held, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Commissioner Gary C. Wheeler, led the Pledge of Allegiance to <br />the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Commissioner Bird requested addition of a report on Parks and <br />Recreation. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Wheeler, the Board unanimously added <br />the above item to the Agenda. <br />ADOPTION AND PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION DESIGNATING MAY 10 <br />THROUGH MAY 16 1992 AS EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES WEEK <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously adopted <br />a Proclamation Designating May 10 through May 16, <br />1992 as Emergency Medical Services Week. <br />Chairman Eggert conveyed special congratulations from the <br />Board to all the members of the division of Emergency Medical <br />Services for being the EMS employees of the year in the entire <br />state of Florida. The Commissioners recognized that these <br />employees worked hard to achieve this recognition. <br />Commissioner Scurlock remarked that the taxpayers of Indian <br />River County should also be thanked because this community has had <br />a strong commitment both to emergency services and fire protection <br />and supports our long range plan by providing the resources. <br />MAY 12 1992 BOOK <br />
