RONALD , <br />SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT <br />SUBJECT: WASTE TIRE GRANT APPLICATION AND <br />RECYCLING & EDUCATION GRANT APPLICATION <br />AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE SIGNATURE <br />BACKGROUND <br />As part of the Florida Department of Environmental Regulation <br />fifth -year Waste Tire Grant and Recycling & Education Grant <br />application requirements for Indian River County, the application <br />requests must be signed by the county's authorized representative <br />before beifag,sent to the DER. This individual is the Chairperson <br />of the Board.'of County Commissioners. The Solid Waste Disposal <br />District has received Waste Tire and Recycling grants for the <br />past 4 years and will continue the program with the support of <br />the fifth -year DER grants. When the applications have been <br />signed by the authorized representative they will be forwarded to <br />the DER. The deadline by which the DER must receive the <br />applications is July 1, 1992. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />District staff requests that the Chairperson of the Board sign <br />the fifth -year Waste Tire Grant and Recycling & Education Grant <br />applications. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Wheeler being absent) approved the <br />fifth -year Waste Tire Grant and Recycling & <br />Education Grant applications and authorized the <br />Chairman's signature, as recommended by staff. <br />COPIES OF APPLICATIONS ARE ON FILE IN THE OFFICE <br />OF THE CLERK TO THE BOARD <br />19 <br />CLAY 2'1191 2,`,,J`9,,2 <br />
