-I <br />MAY 2 6 1992 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Animal Control Officer John E. McNeal successfully completed the <br />Florida Animal Control Officer Training Program approved by the <br />Florida Animal Control Association and he received his certification <br />on March 27, 1992. <br />Pursuant to that part of the Indian River County Code entitled Animal <br />Control, specifically Chapter 302, Section 302.06, and Chapter <br />828.27, Florida Statutes, the above referenced employee is hereby <br />recommended for appointment and approval to issue citations for <br />Animal Control violations. <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />Although the Animal Control Officer has been employed in excess of <br />four months, he has not been authorized to issue citations until the <br />statutory training was completed in a satisfactory manner. <br />Approval of this agenda item will provide another officer with <br />regulatory powers to assist in enforcing the ordinance relating to <br />animal control. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution as well as <br />authorization for Animal Control Officer John E. McNeal to issue <br />citations for animal control ordinance violations. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Commissioner Wheeler being absent) adopted <br />Resolution 92-80, authorizing animal control <br />officer John E. McNeal to issue animal control <br />violation citations. <br />W <br />
