Old Library Renovations <br />The Board reviewed memo from General Services Director Sonny <br />Dean dated May 29, 1992: <br />DATE: MAY 29, 1992 <br />TO: HONORABLE BOARD OF COUNTY CoMaSSIONERS <br />THRU: JAMES E. CHANDLER <br />COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR <br />FROM: H.T. "SONNY" DEAN, DIRNRJ <br />T <br />DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL <br />SUBJECT: OLD LIBRARY RENOVATIONS <br />BACKGROUNDS <br />The County will be assuming the role of our own general contractor on <br />the subject project. It will be necessary to <br />contract for materials and labor which May exceed Purchase and/or <br />single purchase order. We expect this to fo 000.00 on a <br />work. <br />ceiling, HVAC ductwork, light fixtures occur and possible the store front <br />Our schedule calls for the move sometime in October. We have <br />Projected our lease and operating cost to coincide with the schedule. <br />It will be almost impossible to prepare specifications, bid the <br />items, prepare the paper work for award by the Board, -and meet our <br />schedule. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />In view of the above, staff request authority to obtain <br />quotations on all materials and labor in excess of the minimum bid <br />amount, and purchase from the best bidder. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Wheeler, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Scurlock, the Board unanimously <br />authorized staff to obtain quotations and make <br />purchases for Old Library renovations as set out in <br />staff recommendation. <br />7 <br />MOK <br />
