Alternative No. 2 <br />The Board of County Commissioners approve the Joint <br />Participation Agreement, authorize the expenditure of <br />$3,300 in additional funds as required by the Agreement <br />and authorize the Board Chairman to sign the agreement <br />for Indian River County. This action will result in <br />the final processing of the Contract Documents for <br />construction of the approximately $1.9 million dollar <br />project. (Advertise in October 1992, construction in <br />early 1993.) <br />Staff recommends Alternative No. 2 since it will result in <br />the installation of a Central Computer Control for- 41 <br />intersections in the County, and will improve overall signal <br />coordination and flexibility at a very minimal cost to the <br />County (3% ±). <br />The total cost to the County as a result of this approval <br />will be a maximum of $3,300 of new funds over and above the <br />$33,000 approved by the Board on January 21, 1992 for this <br />project. This is a "contingency" fund and any unused <br />funding will 'be returned to the County.
