JUH i '11 <br />K <br />BOOK�- <br />rr�L be,.jl�J <br />REQUEST FOR STREET CLOSING FOR BLOCK PARTY PORTION OF 37TH AVENUE <br />BETWEEN 10TH STREET AND 11TH STREET <br />The Board reviewed memo from County Traffic Engineer Michael <br />Dudeck dated June 4, 1992: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E., <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Request for Block Party <br />37th Avenue Between 10th Street and 11th Street <br />RE: Letter from Nicholas DiRocco to Public Works <br />Department dated June 2, 1992 <br />DATE: June 4, 1992 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />Residents of 37th Avenue have requested permission to close <br />a portion of 37th Avenue between 10th Street and 11th Street <br />for their annual block party. The residents are asking for <br />permission to close the road at 9:00 am to Midnight. Staff <br />has no objections to this request, provided that: <br />1) Proper barricades are installed by the Traffic <br />Engineering Division or the residents of the homeowners <br />association and that the block representative contact <br />the Traffic Engineering Division at 569-5143 <br />seventy-two (72) hours prior to the event. <br />2) A block representative be listed as a contact person in <br />charge of the event in case the road needs to be <br />opened. <br />3) Access to emergency vehicles be maintained. <br />RECOLMIDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval. No funding is applicable. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Bowman, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the closing of a portion of 37th Avenue between 10th <br />and 11th Streets from 9:00 A. M. to Midnight on July <br />25, 1992, as recommended by staff. <br />30 <br />
