RESOLUTION NO. 2016 - <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE COMMUNITY <br />DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA <br />DIVISION OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT FOR A RESIDENTIAL <br />CONSTRUCTION MITIGATION PROGRAM GRANT FOR STATE FISCAL <br />YEAR 2016/17 <br />WHEREAS, on February 10, 2016, the State of Florida Division of Emergency <br />lanagement issued RFP -DEM -15-16-066, Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program <br />Residential Construction Mitigation Program Request for Proposals; and <br />WHEREAS, the Request for Proposals invites local governments, non-profit entities, and <br />qualified for-profit organizations to apply for up to $194,000 in funding for hurricane <br />wind mitigation improvements to residential homes; and <br />I <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners <br />to Iubmit an application to the Florida Division of Emergency Management for Hurricane <br />Loss Mitigation Program Residential Construction Mitigation Program grant funds; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the intent of the County to use those funds to assist homeowners of <br />homesteaded single-family residences with assessed (CAMA) value of up to $200,000 to <br />make qualified hurricane wind mitigation improvements to their homes in Indian River <br />County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY; THAT <br />SECTION 1. The Board of County Commissioners hereby directs the County <br />Clerk to execute all necessary certifications for the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Program <br />Residential Construction Mitigation Program application to be submitted on or before <br />May 5, 2016. <br />Attachment 1 <br />1 <br />97 <br />
