as a source of additional supplies. Warehouse inventories will be tabulated <br /> and if additional food supplies are needed, this ESF will obtain and transport <br /> such supplies to the disaster or staging areas. <br /> Staff from this ESF will be sent into the disaster area to assess the <br /> effectiveness of the food distribution network and to address problems. Staff <br /> will coordinate to ensure ample and timely deliveries of food and water <br /> supplies. Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) will be established in the <br /> affected areas and the location for the distribution of emergency food stamps <br /> will be announced to the public, if instituted. <br /> This ESF will coordinate with ESF#1 (Transportation), for the transportation <br /> of potable water and food shipments to warehouses,feeding sites and pantry <br /> locations. ESF#1 has access to a variety of vehicles (i.e., flatbeds, 4-wheel <br /> drive vehicles, etc.) to ensure that food and water can be transported in to <br /> the affected areas and established feeding and distribution sites (to be <br /> determined dependent upon the extent of the emergency). <br /> B. Organization <br /> Upon activation of this ESF, the lead agency will be responsible for ensuring <br /> all food and water concerns are addressed. Support agencies may be <br /> utilized and will be tasked to provide a representative to the EOC. <br /> C. Notification <br /> The IRCDEM will provide notification for each ESF's primary agency. A <br /> representative from the primary agency will in turn notify each support <br /> agency and/or volunteer agency, as required. <br /> D. Response Actions <br /> 1. Initial Actions <br /> ESF #11 will: <br /> a. Inventory current available food and water supplies. <br /> b. Identify the number of people in shelters and others in need of <br /> food and water. <br /> C. Monitor power outages for estimated ice needs and quantities. <br /> d.
