D. Response Actions <br /> 1. The Sheriff's Office, as lead agency, will monitor the situation and <br /> coordinate law enforcement resources. <br /> 2. Mutual Aid contacts will be placed on alert. <br /> 3. Initial Actions <br /> a. Local law enforcement resources will be committed. <br /> b. Resources from outside the area will be committed as deemed <br /> necessary. <br /> C. The Sheriff will pre-stage one county jail staff person to provide <br /> security at each public shelter. Other law enforcement staff <br /> will be assigned to other areas (i.e. feeding sites, other mass <br /> care facilities and staging or storage areas) as the need <br /> becomes apparent. <br /> 4. Continuing Actions <br /> a. The affected law enforcement agencies will address <br /> enforcement and security requirements within their capabilities. <br /> b. Other law enforcement agencies which respond to Mutual Aid <br /> requests for assistance by the affected agencies will <br /> supplement the resources of those agencies. <br /> 5. Recovery Actions <br /> a. ESF#1 Us highest priority in the aftermath of a disaster will be <br /> to secure the affected area and control reentry. Support will be <br /> mobilized for search and rescue teams entering the area to <br /> search for survivors and damage assessment teams entering <br /> the area to evaluate the extent of damage. Only after these <br /> actions have been completed will other government and <br /> private sector recovery operations (i.e., debris removal, utilities <br /> restoration, etc.) be allowed to begin. <br /> b. ESF#16 will, in the aftermath of a disaster, control and restrict <br /> access to the impacted area.
