EMERGENCY SERVICES/EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT DIRECTOR <br /> REPORTS TO: Board of County Commissioners and/or County Administrator <br /> MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: <br /> The Emergency Services/Emergency Management Director's responsibilities <br /> are executive in nature. They are designed to provide guidance to the Executive Group. <br /> The Emergency Services/Emergency Management Director's responsibilities include: <br /> 1. Overseeing the County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and County <br /> disaster response. <br /> 2. Ensuring that County policies and procedures are followed during disaster <br /> operations. <br /> 3. Coordinating with and providing guidance to affected jurisdictions. <br /> 4. Resolving policy and response issues as necessary with input from the State <br /> EOC. <br /> 5. Implementing evaluation process for major disasters to include review of <br /> County plan operations and effectiveness and meeting standards of care. <br /> 6. Ensuring that the contact is maintained with local elected officials and the <br /> State EOC, as appropriate. <br /> 7. Designating a replacement for shift changes. <br /> 8. Assuring adequate return to Level III status for Indian River County. <br /> -3- <br />
