The <br /> DFO serves as the hub for the coordination of federal and state <br /> disaster assistance, as well as a focal point for associated recovery <br /> and reconstruction issues. If necessary, the Indian River County, <br /> Emergency Management Division, will provide a liaison at the JFO <br /> and also establish a liaison with the state recovery staff. <br /> 2. Public Information <br /> ESF #14 will be responsible for the coordination and release of <br /> information to the media and the public. Locations of DRCs will be <br /> released on a daily basis. Should any additional information be <br /> required by DRCs, ESF#5 (Information &Planning)would provide the <br /> necessary advisories. Regularly scheduled press conferences will be <br /> established during an event. The information to be disseminated may <br /> include, but not be limited to, the following: <br /> a. Identification of vulnerable areas for each hazard; <br /> b. Pre-disaster measures to alleviate loss; <br /> C. Preparedness tips; <br /> d. Response information, especially evacuation and sheltering; <br /> e. Recovery information, where to go and who to contact for <br /> assistance; and <br /> f. Information on what to bring to a shelter. <br /> For more detailed information, refer to the procedures established for <br /> ESF #14 in Annex 1, Page ESF #14-1. Additionally, see Annex VII <br /> (Public Outreach, Notification, and Crisis Communication Strategy). <br /> 3. Once a Presidential Declaration of Disaster is established, FEMA will <br /> open Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) throughout Indian River <br /> County. Eight potential DRC sites have been identified (a general <br /> location map is attached to this document and identified as <br /> Attachment 7). The purpose of these centers is to provide the public <br /> access to apply for federal assistance funding. The centers will <br /> provide residents and businesses with information on available <br /> programs and assist applicants with completion of the necessary <br /> forms/documentation. ESF#14 (Public Information)will be requested <br /> to make daily public announcements to inform residents and <br /> businesses on the essential documentation required to obtain <br /> assistance. This documentation includes, but is not limited to, the <br /> following: <br /> Indian River County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan Annex IA- Page 7 <br />
