PURPOSE <br /> To establish procedure to provide notification to key agencies and personnel of <br /> an emergency situation that may require their agency's activation and response <br /> B. SCOPE <br /> This procedure will be implemented by the Director of Emergency Management <br /> in the event of an emergency situation. <br /> II. SITUATION <br /> A. HAZARD ANALYSIS <br /> See the Indian River County Local Mitigation Strategy for a comprehensive <br /> hazard analysis. <br /> B. PLANNING ASSUMPTIONS <br /> Effective and efficient Notification of key officials is critical for a successful <br /> response. <br /> III. RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> A. COUNTY <br /> Notification of select agencies will be accomplished by the Indian River County <br /> Emergency Management Division through the County Warning Point which will <br /> utilize the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) net established for the 9-1-1 <br /> system. Notification of all agencies will be conducted by Indian River County <br /> Emergency Management via Alert!Indian River(Everbridge), telephone, email, <br /> or facsimile and the general public will be notified through local radio and <br /> television stations. Department notifications should include all preparatory <br /> steps for emergency operations; e.g. verification of recall pyramids, works <br /> schedules and assignments, emergency equipment inventories and status, etc. <br /> B. CITY <br /> Municipal agencies and officials will be notified either directly or through <br /> a liaison as the situation warrants. <br /> E-1 <br />
