(4) In response to the threat of(event information) <br /> effective at (time/date), the Indian River County <br /> Department of Emergency Management is <br /> directing your agency to begin preparedness <br /> efforts. <br /> Preparedness efforts, means that agencies should make <br /> arrangements to respond on a moment's notice. Agencies should <br /> verify recall lists, work schedules, duty assignments, equipment <br /> preparation, and inventory, etc. <br /> b. Notification to Citizens <br /> Indian River County Emergency Management will provide warning <br /> notification through Alert!Indian River(Everbridge), the media <br /> (television and radio), by press releases and by social media. <br /> If the situation is of the utmost importance and requires <br /> immediate notification, not waiting for the media to handle the <br /> notification, the Indian River County Emergency Management <br /> Director can activate several warning systems: <br /> i. Notification to the media <br /> ii. Alert Indian River(Everbridge Emergency Notification <br /> System) <br /> iii. EOC may contact government agencies via phone and <br /> email <br /> iv. Radio override system: in coordination with a local radio <br /> station, emergency management can override their <br /> station broadcasting in emergency events. <br /> V. Can override the local cable government channel with <br /> emergency information or with a crawler. <br /> V. Have first responders, via public address systems, notify <br /> residents of the danger <br /> 3. Emergency Operations (Recovery) <br /> All notification resources and techniques may be used to support <br /> recovery operations. It is important to ensure that dedicating <br /> resources to recovery does not diminish the emergency notification <br /> system for the next event. <br /> E-3 <br />
