ARTICLE 5 <br /> CORRESPONDENCE <br /> 5.1 By mutual agreement of the Employer and the Union, there is hereby established <br /> a Joint Labor-Management Committee, which shall consist of not more than four <br /> (4) members designated by the Union and four (4) members designated by the <br /> County. The Union Committee membership shall consist of persons from within <br /> the position classifications covered by this agreement. Permanent members of <br /> the committee will be the Union Business Agent, the Chief Steward, and the <br /> County Human Resources Director. Nothing herein requires the attendance of <br /> the County Administrator at any Labor-Management Committee meeting. <br /> 5.2 This Labor-Management Committee shall meet if mutually agreed to by both <br /> parties, and such meetings may be held during working hours (see Article 11.4). <br /> 5.3 The purpose of these meetings will be to discuss the problems and objectives of <br /> mutual concern, but in no way shall involve specific grievances filed or <br /> contemplated or matters which have been the subject of current collective <br /> bargaining issues between the parties. <br /> 5.4 An agenda, listing the items for discussion, will be forwarded by the party <br /> requesting such meeting to the other party no later than three (3) days prior to <br /> the meeting. <br /> 5.5 Unless otherwise provided in this agreement all correspondence from the union <br /> to the County shall be directed to the Human Resources Director and all <br /> correspondence from the County to the union shall be directed to the business <br /> representative. To comply with the time limits contained in this agreement, such <br /> correspondence shall actually be received by the Human Resources Director or <br /> union business representative on or before the date due unless sent via the U.S. <br /> Postal Service. When the U.S. Postal Service is utilized, all time limits contained <br /> in this agreement shall be considered to be met so long as the postmark date is <br /> in compliance with the specified time limit. <br /> 5. 6 It is the responsibility of the union to furnish the County with a mailing address for <br /> it and to advise the County of any address changes.
