RESOLUTION NO. 2014- 094 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, TO FORMALLY RE -STRUCTURE AND <br />RE-ESTABLISH THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />(CDBG) CITIZEN ADVISORY TASK FORCE (CATF). <br />WHEREAS, the County is eligible for a Community Development Block <br />Grant (CDBG) from the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO); and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners to submit applications to the Florida Department of Economic <br />Opportunity for a Small Cities Community Development Block Grant to benefit <br />persons of low and moderate income within the County; <br />WHEREAS, Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) applications <br />must be consistent with the Indian River County Comprehensive Plan; and <br />WHEREAS, there are several CDBG- funding categories that the County <br />may apply for including Housing, Neighborhood Revitalization, Commercial <br />Revitalization, and Economic Development; and <br />WHEREAS, to be successful in obtaining CDBG funding the County needs <br />to maximize its CDBG application score; and <br />WHEREAS, per a new CDBG program rule, the County can claim 10 <br />additional points on its application for funding if it has an active CATF, made up of <br />at least 5 members of which at least 51% of the members are from low to moderate <br />income households; and <br />WHEREAS, under CDBG definitions, low to moderate income households is <br />defined as having a household income of less than 50% of the County's median <br />household income; and <br />1 <br />
