D. Sedimentation Control From Dewatering or Pumping Operations Using Filter Bags. <br /> 1. Filter bags shall be manufactured using a polypropylene non-woven geotextile <br /> and sewn by a double-needle machine, using a high strength nylon thread. The <br /> bag shall have a fill spout large enough to accommodate a 4-inch pump <br /> discharge hose. Straps shall be attached to the bag to secure the hose and <br /> prevent pumped water from escaping without being filtered. <br /> 2. Installation: Install in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Use as <br /> many filter bags as required, at no additional cost to the OWNER. Legally <br /> dispose of the bags offsite, at no cost to the OWNER. If the bags are placed on <br /> aggregate to facilitate filtration efficiency, do not use limerock aggregate—use <br /> non-calcareous rock. <br /> 3. Product: The filter bag shall be supplied with lifting straps. <br /> a. "DIRTBAG 53 or 55 as applicable," supplied by ACF Environmental, <br /> Inc. (1-800-448-3636). <br /> b. "DANDY DEWATERING BAG"supplied by Dandy Products, Inc. (1-800- <br /> 591-2284). <br /> C. Or equivalent. <br /> E. Curb Inlet Protection: <br /> 1. Filter stormwater before it enters curb inlets. <br /> 2. Installation: Install in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. Use as <br /> many of the specified filtration devices as required, at no additional cost to the <br /> OWNER. <br /> 3. Product: All materials shall be new and unused. The length of the curb inlet <br /> filtration device shall be at least 2-feet longer than the curb inlet opening. <br /> a. "GUTTERBUDDY," supplied by ACF Environmental, Inc. (1-800-448- <br /> 3636). <br /> b. Or equivalent. <br /> F. Catch Basin Protection: <br /> 1. Filter stormwater before it enters catch basins (drop inlets). The filter "sack" <br /> shall be manufactured from woven polypropylene geotextile and sewn by a <br /> double-needle machine, using a high strength nylon thread. The sack shall be <br /> l <br /> manufactured to fit the opening of the catch basin or drop inlet and it shall have <br /> the following features: two dump straps attached at the bottom to facilitate <br /> emptying; lifting loops as an integral part of the system to be used to lift the <br /> sack from the basin; and a colored restraint chord approximately halfway up the <br /> sack to keep the sides away from the catch basin walls. The colored restraint <br /> chord shall also serve as a visual means of indicating when the sack should be <br /> emptied. <br /> 2. Installation: Install in each catch basin in accordance with the manufacturer's <br /> specifications. Use as many of the specified filtration devices as required, at no <br /> additional cost to the OWNER. <br /> 3. Product: All materials shall be new and unused. <br /> a.
