� ® r <br />There will also be the need to purchase equipment to facilitate which <br />ever transmission system selected, along with additional cameras and <br />monitors. <br />This type project is very technical and requires expertise which is. <br />not available within the County's work force. With this in mind, <br />staff looked at how this same problem was resolved in similar areas. <br />ANALYSIS: <br />It appears that a consultant should be hired to handle the entire <br />project. A "lock and key" job with a -set price to cover engineering, <br />additional equipment, cabling, and any other requirement. Based on <br />information obtained from similar projects, there are sufficient <br />funds in the budget to finance this approach. <br />This type project will require the services of an engineering firm <br />and the estimated cost will exceed the threshold of the Contractor's <br />Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA) as set by Florida Statues. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS: <br />Based on the above, Staff request authorization to issue a Request <br />For Qualifications (RFQ) and proceed with selection of a firm as <br />outlined in the CCNA. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bowman, the Board unanimously (3-0, <br />Commissioner Bird being absent) authorized staff to <br />issue a Request for Qualifications and proceed with <br />selection of a firm as outlined in the Contractor's <br />Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA). <br />SUPERVISOR OF ELECTIONS - APPROVAL OF NEW PRECINCT #47 <br />Supervisor of Elections Ann Robinson explained that they need <br />to create a new precinct #47, which would be in the area south of <br />Vista Royale, east of U.S. #1, and south to the south county line. <br />Highway U.S. #1 in that area divides us into two State Senate <br />Districts, and rather than running the risk of those 1000 voters <br />getting a wrong ballot, they would like to create the new precinct <br />and have that precinct vote, at this time, at the Vero Highlands <br />Elementary School which is also Precinct #43. They hope to have a <br />19 <br />JUL 14 A9 <br />KOK <br />
