I <br />J U L ' 1992 BROOK h "'L X40, <br />1/22/92(DOCS1)Legal(Ob) <br />ORDINANCE 92-7r <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF <br />CHAPTER 8, FIREARMS, OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES 00 INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AND <br />DECLAR I NG SAME TO BE NULL AND VO I D AND <br />OF NO EFFECT. <br />F <br />WHEREAS, the State of Florida has preempted the <br />right of local governments to Issue licenses to carry <br />concealed weapons or firearms, and <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 8 which sets forth County <br />licensing procedures for concealed weapons is, therefore, <br />no longer necessary, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of Indian River County that: <br />SECTION 1. REPEAL <br />Chapter 8 - Firearms of the Code of Ordinances of <br />Indian River County is hereby repealed and declared null and <br />void and of no effect. <br />SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />This ordinance shall become effective t,nnn <br />becoming law. <br />Approved and adopted by the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, on this 14 <br />day of July 1992. <br />This ordinance was advertised in the Vero Beach <br />Press -Journal on the 15 day of June , 1992, for a <br />public hearing to be held on the 14 day of July , <br />1992, at which time it was moved for adoption by <br />Commissioner bowman , seconded by Commissloner Scurlock , <br />and adopted by the following vote: <br />Chairman Carolyn K.
