� r � <br />Tuesday, July 21, 1992 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, July 21, 1992, <br />at 9:00 o'clock A. M. Present were Carolyn K. Eggert, Chairman; <br />Margaret C. Bowman, Vice Chairman; Gary C. Wheeler; and Don C. <br />Scurlock, Jr. Absent was Richard N. Bird who was in Tallahassee on <br />County business. Also present were James E. Chandler, County <br />Administrator; William G. Collins II, Deputy County Attorney; and <br />Patricia Held, Deputy Clerk <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order. <br />Reverend Elinor O'Mally, Minister, Science of Mind Center, <br />gave the invocation, and Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert led the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Eggert announced that Clerk of the Court, J. K. <br />Barton, wished to present his report on the fire at the Courthouse, <br />Item 5. <br />PRESENTATIONS <br />J. K. Barton, Clerk of the Court, reported that at 8:00 P.M. <br />on July 20, 1992 he received a telephone call from the Vero Beach <br />Police Department and was informed that the south end of the <br />Courthouse was completely engulfed in flames, which proved to be <br />inaccurate. The damage was contained to the first floor southeast <br />section, which houses the public viewing room for microfilm of all <br />documents on public record, along with the Recording Department. <br />Mr. Barton announced that the Courthouse was functioning in all <br />areas. The microfilm in the Courthouse was damaged and not usable, <br />so there would be the inconvenience to the public of going to the <br />'JUL �� ��� BOOK C.i � f'����E or <br />
