Mr. Michael Nixon P.E... via e-mail (mnixon@ircgov com) <br />Roadway Production Manager <br />Subject: Materials Testing and Observation Services <br />Old Dixie Highway Resurfacing <br />IRC Project No. 1137 <br />Indian River County, Florida <br />Dunkelberger Proposal No. PHB140131 (Revised 8-29-14) <br />Dear Mr Nixon: <br />As requested, Dunkelberger Engineering & Testing, Inc., A Terracon Company (Dunkelberger) <br />is pleased to submit this revised proposal for Materials Testing and Observation Services <br />during construction activities at the subject project in Indian River County, Florida <br />A. PROJECT INFORMATION <br />The subject project will include the reconstruction of the base course and asphaltic concrete <br />structural course and shoulder widening of the of Old Dixie Highway from the IRFWCD North <br />Relief Canal to 71st Street. The project length is approximately 11,270 lineal feet (2.13 miles) and <br />the contract time is 150 calendar days to substantial completion. <br />The reconstruction (resurfacing) will involve building a 9 -inch thick full -depth reclamation (FDR) <br />base course, a 11/2 -inch thick asphaltic concrete (AC) structural course, and 1 %--inch thick AC <br />wearing course. The shoulder widening will involve constructing a 12 -inch deep stabilization (LBR <br />40) 3 to 4 feet wide on each side of the existing roadway Also associated with the project is a <br />minor amount of earthwork, drainage and concrete. The purpose of our work is to provide quality <br />assurance (QA) testing and inspection to check the conformity of the materials composition and <br />their construction with the project specifications. <br />B.
