1.03 Materials • <br />"fit 41 <br />.'x�Sa4 1 <br />a. Superphosphate shall be composed of finely ground phosphate rock as commonly used <br />for agricultural purposes containing not less than 20 percent available phosphoric acid. <br />b. <br />c. <br />Fertilizer. <br />1. Fertilizer shall be a complete fertilizer, the elements of which are derived from <br />organic sources. Fertilizer shall be a standard product complying with State and <br />Federal fertilizer laws. Submit representative soil samples for analysis by a <br />private laboratory to determine nutrient deficiencies and outline a proper <br />fertilization program. Contractor shall pay all analysis costs. <br />2. Percentages of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash shall be based on laboratory tests <br />on soils and approved by the Solid Waste Disposal District. For the purpose of <br />bidding, assume 6 percent nitrogen, 6 percent phosphorus and 6 percent potash by <br />weight. At least 50 percent of the total nitrogen shall contain no less than 3 <br />percent water -insoluble nitrogen. <br />3. Fertilizer shall be delivered to the site, mixed as specified, in the original <br />unopened standard size bags showing weight, analysis and name of manufacturer. <br />Containers shall bear the guaranteed statement of analysis, or a certificate of <br />compliance covering analysis shall be furnished to the Engineer. Store fertilizer <br />in a weatherproof place and in such a manner that it will be kept dry and its <br />effectiveness will not be impaired. <br />Seed <br />1. The following seed mixture shall be used for temporary cover in areas where <br />operations will resume in 180 days: <br />100% of Pensacola Bahia <br />2. Seed for Interim or Intermediate Cover <br />The following seed mixture will be used for interim or intermediate vegetative <br />cover in areas which have reached final elevation (prior to permanent closure) or <br />in areas in which filling operations will not resume within 210 days. <br />100% of Pensacola Bahia <br />3. For paragraphs 1.03 (c) and (d) seed variety and seed purity shall be certified by <br />the Manufacturer/Supplier or a certified lab.
