Presently, the landfill consists of t <br />cells, designated as Segment I and II. Segment I is closed and Segment II <br />currently active. There is no lining system present beneath the inacti <br />Segment I, whereae a single geomembrane liner was installed beneath t <br />currently active Segment II and a clay cap was installed on Segment i <br />cloeure. <br />Indian River County plans to construct and operate an Infill Segment Ln t <br />space between the unlined Segment I and the lined Segment II. The later <br />expansion which covers an area of approximately 5 acres will be construct <br />between Segments I and II. The vertical expansion will be constructed above t <br />sideslopes of Segments i and II with a final peak elevation of 145 fait NOV <br />Lining systems are required in the lateral expansion area and on the sideslc <br />of Segment I because there is no lining system constructed beneath Segment,I. <br />$pacific Conditions: <br />1) Information: The information submitted January 12, April 23 and Ju <br />10, 1996 to construct and operate the Infill Segments 1 and 11 of the 0164e <br />solid waste landfill, on file at the Central District office, is made a pert <br />this permit. <br />2) pio Disruption of current Operations: Under no conditions shall t <br />construction work of this project disrupt the current landfill operatic <br />especially the Class I disposal operation.
