PINTO��({ <br />DIRECTOR OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />PREPARED TERRY H.DRUM '1W <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL SPECIALIST <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: WATER MAIN EXTENSION <br />NORTH GIFFORD ROAD (45TH STREET) <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -92 -21 -DS <br />IRC BID NO. 91-113 <br />WORK AUTHORIZATION NO. 5 <br />BACKGROUND <br />Installation of approximately 560 linear feet of 6" water main to <br />provide water services to additional properties along North Gifford <br />Road (45th Street) from 26th Avenue to the west right-of-way line of <br />the Florida East Coast Railroad. <br />On August 6, 1991, the Board of County Commissioners approved the award <br />of the labor contract bid to Driveways, Inc. (Bid No. 91-113). (See <br />attached minutes.) The Department of Utility Services proposes to use <br />this labor contract to replace the distribution system. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The cost of the labor to construct the 611 water main extension under <br />the labor contract is $6,481.55. (See attached Work Authorization No. <br />5 with Driveways, Inc.) The pipe, valves and fittings will be supplied <br />by the County at a cost of $3,916.68. In-house engineering, inspection <br />and administration-- costs are- estimated to be --$1,250.00. The <br />construction of this water line extension will accommodate any <br />properties along the project route requesting water service. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />Board of County Commissioners approve Work Authorization No. 5 with <br />Driveways, Inc., for the amount of $6,481.55 to extend the water <br />distribution system 560 linear feet, and to authorize expenditure of <br />$5,166.68 for material and in-house support, for a total project cost <br />of $11,648.23. <br />31 <br />AUG ii 1992 <br />BOOK :-� 1 <br />1 Fb�t6, <br />
