Goal #3: Adult residents will increase their knowledge and skills in the area of positive <br />parenting, health and safety for children by a minimum of 5-10% as evidenced through a pre <br />and posttest given at the beginning and end of the eight week parenting classes. These classes <br />are completed quarterly. <br />Outcome: Goal Met: 21.8.8% <br />Goal #4: Seventy-five percent of resident children will increase their knowledge and skills in the <br />area of academic performance as evidence through progress reports and report cards. Children <br />will be evaluated during the academic year. <br />Outcome: Goal Met: 100 % of school age children have increased academic <br />performance in at least one subject area as documented by 2015-2016 year-end report <br />cards. <br />CHILDCARE RESOURCES OF INDIAN RIVER <br />Children in Centers <br />(Statistics as of 9/30/2016) <br />Grant: $170,000.00 <br />Funds Used as of 9/30/2016: $170,000.00 <br />Total Children served as of 9/30/2016: 130 <br />Total Contracting Center Children served as of 9/30/2016. 62 <br />Taxonomy numbers: NL -300.150; PH -610.150; PH -610 <br />Focus Areas Addressed: Children in Centers <br />Program description: This program is designed to provide access to quality childcare for an at - <br />risk segment of the population that cannot afford to pay for quality childcare. The intent is to <br />provide school readiness skills for the children. This organization contracts with local childcare <br />centers that meet quality criteria for the purpose of delivering quality childcare programs for <br />working families who meet income eligibility guidelines and live in Indian River County. <br />GOALS/OUTCOMES REPORT (10/1/2015 — 9/30/2016) <br />Goal #1: 80% of Childcare Resources "graduates" will leave for kindergarten with school <br />readiness skills as determined by the United Way's Goals for the Common Good (literacy, <br />social/emotional and cognitive skills). This will include only those children who were in the <br />Childcare Resources program a minimum of one year. <br />Outcome: 98 percent of "graduates" have achieved kindergarten readiness skills. <br />• Contracting Centers: 95% improvement <br />• Childcare Resources School: 100% improvement <br />P173 <br />
