Brown <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: Dori Roy <br />Assistant to the County Administrator <br />DATE: March 28, 2017 <br />SUBJECT: Department of the Army Right -of -Entry for <br />Environmental Assessment and Response <br />During World War II, the military trained in coastal Indian River County near Vero Beach. The <br />Department of the Army, Jacksonville District Corps of Engineers, is conducting a Remedial <br />Investigation/Feasibility Study to determine if anything remains in the area from the military's <br />training. In order to complete this investigation, access to several pieces of property owned by <br />Indian River County and the Indian River County Emergency Services District is needed. Right - <br />of -Entry for Environmental Assessment and Response forms were received for twelve pieces of <br />property with a request for authorization to access these sites. Four additional properties have <br />been identified as potentially being �in the area of investigation, and Rights -of -Entry forms may <br />be requested for access to these sites at a later date. <br />It is recommended that the Board of County Commission grant access to properties owned by <br />Indian River County and Indian River County Emergency Services District to the Department of <br />the Army in order to complete the Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Study, and authorize the <br />Chairman to execute Right -of -Entry for Environmental Assessment and Response forms as <br />needed in order to complete this study. <br />Project Information Brochure <br />February 27 Information Letter <br />March 17 Permission Letter <br />Right of Entry for Environmental Assessment and Response Form <br />Parcel Data Information on Identified Properties <br />P69 <br />
