Zito, Assistant County Administrator <br />From: Beth Powell, Conservation Lands Manager <br />Subject: Work Order No. 5 — Engineering — MBV Engineering, Inc. <br />Site Plan, Design and Permitting for Public Use Improvements for Kroegel <br />Homestead, Hallstrom Farmstead and Jones' Pier Conservation Areas <br />DESCRIPTIONS AND CONDITIONS: <br />On November 15, 2011, the Board of County Commissioners approved the Continuing <br />Contract for Professional Services with MBV Engineering, Inc., and on November 4, 2014, <br />approved an Extension and Amendment of the Continuing Contract. <br />The purpose of Work Order No. 5 is to provide design and permitting services for public <br />use improvements to three conservation areas with historically significant structures. <br />Work completed will consist of site planning, design and permitting for pedestrian paths, <br />parking, restrooms, water and sewer utilities, existing driveway modifications, minor <br />drainage with swales and culverts (where applicable), sidewalks andADA access to <br />bathroom facilities where applicable. MBV will provide existing survey (provided by <br />others), design, permitting and bidding services as related to the above activities. <br />FUNDING: <br />The Board approved increased funding for access improvements in December 2015, <br />through an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan's Capital Improvements Element and <br />updated the County's 5 Year Capital Improvements Program Schedule to allocate $2.9 <br />million dollars over a five year period to be utilized toward public access improvements on <br />conservation lands. Due to historical structures on site, ability to apply for matching <br />grants (once the site plans are completed) and public interest in these three parcels, they <br />have been identified as high priority for public use improvements. <br />Funding will be provided through the 5 Ye <br />(Account .
