PROCLAMATION 15R <br />- <br />DESIGNATING THE WEEK OF JULY 17, 2016, AS <br />TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK <br />IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, on Saturday, July 23, 2016, the Marine Industries Association of the Treasure <br />-Coast in conjunction with the Florida Inland Navigation District will conduct the 9TH Annual Treasure <br />Coast Waterway Cleanup; and <br />WHEREAS, this event will attract approximately 950 volunteers who will participate in cleaning <br />up the waterways of Indian River, Martin, and St. Lucie Counties; and <br />WHEREAS, twenty designated sites throughout the three counties will serve as registration <br />and disposal sites for the volunteers to work out of; and <br />WHEREAS, numerous waterfront homeowners' associations have been recruited to clean up <br />their own waterfronts; and <br />WHEREAS, in 2015, over 7.9 tons of trash was collected from approximately 125 miles of <br />waterways with an expectation of a significantly larger amount to be collected this year with an <br />increased volunteer effort. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that the week of July 17, 2016, through July 24, 2016, <br />be designated as TREASURE COAST WATERWAY CLEANUP WEEK in Indian River County, and <br />all citizens are encouraged to use this occasion to foster appreciation for the Treasure Coast <br />Waterways and assist in the cleanup efforts. <br />Adopted this 12th day of July, 2016. <br />BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />7Bob olari, Chair an <br />�_,16seph E.
