ARTICLE 25 <br />HOLIDAYS <br />The County recognizes the following holidays and any other days authorized by the Board of County <br />Commissioners under the auspices of the Indian River County Administrative Policy. <br />1. <br />New Year's Day <br />2. <br />Martin Luther King, Jr. Day <br />3. <br />Good Friday <br />4. <br />Memorial Day <br />5. <br />Independence Day <br />6. <br />Labor Day <br />7. <br />Veteran's Day <br />8. <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />9. <br />Friday after Thanksgiving Day <br />10. <br />Last working day before Christmas <br />11. <br />Christmas Day <br />25.02 Non -shift employees shall be given time off with pay for the above holidays on the County <br />observed day. If a non -shift employee works the holiday, the employee shall be paid the <br />overtime rate at time and one-half for the time worked. <br />25.03 Shift employees not required to work on a holiday will receive twelve (12) hours pay at their <br />regular rate for the pay period within which each holiday falls. Shift employees who are <br />required to work on a holiday shall receive twelve (12) hours of overtime pay, as holiday pay, <br />in addition to their twenty-four (24) hours of regular pay. <br />25.04 An employee must be on active pay status, or approved leave on the regularly scheduled <br />working day immediately prior to a holiday and the regularly scheduled working day <br />immediately following a holiday in order to qualify for the holiday time. <br />23 <br />P101 <br />
