Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final June 13, 2017 <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner <br />Solari, to Approve Resolution 2017-056, authorizing the Florida Department of <br />Transportation to acquire property rights along State Road 60 and 43rd Avenue for <br />intersection improvement. The motion carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 5- Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman O'Bryan, Commissioner Adams, Commissioner <br />Solari, and Commissioner Zorc <br />14. Commissioner Susan Adams <br />U.C.1. 17-0616 Roseland Community Building <br />Recommended Action: Direct Staff to move forward with Work Order #7 Roseland Community <br />Building -Building Analysis and authorize the execution of any documents <br />needed for such. <br />Attachments: Commissioner's Memorandum <br />Lease <br />Letters of Support <br />Work Order #7 <br />Commissioner Adams spoke in support of saving and renovating the Roseland <br />Community Building, as it is a vital part of the community. She requested to <br />direct staff to move forward with Work Order No.7, to allocate $8,300 on a <br />building analysis to assess the condition of the building, along with receiving <br />the estimated costs for repairs. <br />Commissioner Solari supported the allocation for a building analysis, but <br />explained that once the results have been received, he would like to know the <br />intent of the Roseland Community. <br />Chairman Flescher supported a building analysis, as the documentation would <br />be important for possible granting opportunities. <br />Roseland Women's Club President Verna Moreira, 112 Drake Way, Sebastian, <br />explained that having a building analysis would help them when asking for <br />donations, in addition to grant writing. She assured the Board that the <br />Roseland Community and the Roseland Women's Club would do everything <br />they could to preserve the Roseland Community Building. <br />Fredrick Mensing, PO Box 964, Roseland, a Roseland Community Association <br />Board member, spoke in support of restoring the Roseland Community <br />Building. He added that he would like to see it listed on the National Historic <br />Registry. <br />Indian River County Florida Page 14 <br />
