The library system's budget is funded from the general <br />fund. <br />Library Descriptions <br />Indian River County Law Library <br />The Law Library provides legal resources and information for the <br />community. Resources are provided for patrons, students from junior high <br />school through graduate school, paralegals, judges, attorneys, law <br />enforcement personnel, and the general public. <br />The Law Library offers Lois Law and basic law references in print form. <br />There is no charge for any of the Law Library services. <br />North Indian River County Library <br />The collection includes 130,040 items in many formats, including electronic <br />resources and E -books. Wireless Internet access is available. <br />Library users have access to the collection through the Polaris system's <br />online catalog. Equipment is available for public use, and public computers <br />are also available. <br />A meeting room, seating 200, a conference room seating 10 and three <br />study/typing rooms are available for groups or individuals to reserve and <br />use. All are heavily booked by community groups, boards, literacy tutors, <br />etc. A Storytime Room in the Children's Department provides a special <br />area for children's programming. <br />The library sponsors and/or cosponsors many programs for all age groups, <br />often with support from the Friends of the North Indian River County <br />Library. <br />Programs for preschoolers and toddlers are offered by the Children's <br />Department. Staff visits Headstart Centers monthly, as well as offering <br />programs in the library to local preschools. During the summer a full <br />schedule of programs for children of all ages is offered.
