The Vice Chairman opened the public hearing and asked if <br />anyone wished to be heard in this matter. There being none, she <br />closed the public hearing. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Scurlock, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously (4-0, <br />Chairman Eggert being absent) adopted Ordinance 92- <br />38 amending Chapter 401, Building Codes, Section <br />401.12 Standpipes, modified to include the phrase 113 <br />stories or 50 feet." <br />ORDINANCE 92- 38 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, <br />FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 401 - BUILDING <br />CODES; SECTION 401.12 STANDPIPES OF THE <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY CODE. <br />WHEREAS, the current code requirement for the installation <br />of standpipes for fire protection within structures has flow and <br />pressure requirements which exceed national standards, and <br />WHEREAS, these flow and pressure requirements are <br />difficult to meet for residential structures, and <br />WHEREAS, a reduction in flow and pressure standards in <br />these cases will not compromise fire safety and will be compatible with <br />the Code in effect in the City of Vero Beach, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE BOARD OF <br />COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA <br />that: <br />SECTION 1. AMENDMENT. <br />Section 401.12 Standpipes is amended by to read as follows: <br />Section 401.12. Standpipes. <br />Section 902 of the SBC is amended to read as follows: <br />1.
