Process: •. Planning Division staff notifies general public and <br />neighborhood groups of program application period. <br />• Neighborhoods apply to participate in <br />Improvement/Award Program. <br />• Planning Division staff member and applicant(s) <br />meet to determine an Improvement Activity Plan <br />(IAP) listing activities needed to obtain the <br />desired neighborhood improvement. <br />• Planning Division staff coordinates contact with <br />applicant(s) and department/agency representatives <br />as identified in the IAP. <br />• Applicant(s), residents and department/agency <br />representatives complete actions identified by the <br />IAP. <br />• Affordable Housing Advisory Committee reviews <br />improvement activities completed by neighborhood <br />participants and selects recipient of Merit Award <br />for the period. <br />• Merit Award presented to neighborhood recipient by <br />the Board of County Commissioners at a regular <br />Board of County Commissioners meeting. <br />Methodology: • Planning staff places" Public -Notices Notices and <br />disperses flyers that County 'is accepting <br />applications for participation. <br />• Planning staff receives applications for <br />participation and schedules meeting with <br />applicant(s) to formulate "Improvement <br />Activity Plan" (IAP). <br />• Planning staff member and applicant(s) meet <br />and identify activities which will contribute <br />to improving the neighborhood, including but <br />not limited to: <br />- Directed Regulatory Enforcement <br />- Establishing Neighborhood Watch Program <br />- Clean -Up Day Program <br />- Painting/Cleaning/Repairing/Demolishing <br />unaesthetic residences/structures <br />Improving/Adding Landscaping <br />Establishing Property Owners' Association <br />Correcting Public/Private Improvement <br />Problems in Neighborhood (e.g. drainage, <br />roadway pavement, etc.) <br />Instituting petition paving program <br />• Planning staff coordinates meetings between <br />applicant and department/agency <br />representatives. <br />• Applicant(s) contacts neighborhood residents <br />and begins coordinating resident activities <br />identified in the IAP. <br />• County staff members and residents conduct <br />activities identified in the IAP. <br />41 <br />SEP 2 2 1992 <br />Box 87 Qar,496 <br />
