SEP 2 21992 am 87 fALE 697 <br />• Planning staff member contacts applicant and <br />department/agency representatives to review <br />status of improvement activities. <br />• Planning staff member reviews and evaluates <br />completed neighborhood improvement activities, <br />in relation to prepared IAP, for each <br />participating neighborhood. <br />• Planning staff member presents improvement <br />evaluations to Housing Committee which selects <br />recipient for period's Merit Award. <br />• Planning staff member prepares and obtains <br />recognition award materials for recipient. <br />• Planning staff member prepares and submits <br />Board of County Commissioners' item for <br />presentation of recognition award. <br />Timing: • Program conducted on quarterly basis: <br />- October/November/December <br />- January/February/March <br />- April/May/June <br />- July/August/September <br />Budget: <br />• First month of 3 month quarter: <br />notices for program application deadline <br />distributed and advertised <br />applications received <br />planning staff member and applicant(s) <br />meet to formulate "Improvement Activity <br />Plan" (IAP) <br />• Second month of 3 month quarter: <br />applicant(s) and department <br />representatives meet <br />identified improvement activities <br />organized and scheduled <br />improvement activities begin <br />• Third month of 3 month quarter: <br />improvement activities completed <br />staff evaluates neighborhoods for <br />improvement results <br />staff determines award.winner for period <br />and completes presentation item for Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />• First month of following period: <br />presentation of award to winning <br />neighborhood <br />• Funding will be provided from Existing Approved <br />Budgets. <br />• No application fees will be charged - to encourage <br />participation. <br />42 <br />
